Andrea Ruiz, APN, is a board-certified Primary Care nurse practitioner specializing in internal medicine at Advance Medical Group in our three locations: Hackensack, Haledon and Paramus
Andrea began her professional career at Rutgers University’s accelerated nursing program where she was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 2013. She returned to school and completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Family Medicine from Rutgers The State University.
Throughout her medical career, Andrea has served communities in Newark, East Orange, and New York city working in Medical Surgical, Step Down and Perioperative departments.
While working as a staff nurse, she acted as charge nurse and participated in various practice committees such as the patient safety and evidence-based practice committees.
Andrea was born and raised in Bergen County and holds the city of Hackensack close to her heart.
At Advance Medical Group, Andrea welcomes new and returning patients and offers high-quality care using the latest guidelines and recommendations. She is passionate about primary care and sees multidisciplinary care as a vital component to a person’s health.
Andrea is fluent in English and Spanish and is a deep believer in delivering culturally competent care, seeing the patient in a holistic manner and being a part in reducing the health equity gap for all.
In her free time, Andrea loves travelling, hiking, watching comedy and hanging out with her friends and family.
